Dene has over 30 years of experience in New Zealand’s flooring industry. He began his career specialising in floor preparation, sanding, and fine finishing, before broadening his expertise to include concrete slab substrate preparation. He holds NZQA qualifications in both areas.
As the flooring industry has advanced and new technologies have emerged, Dene developed a strong interest in moisture-related issues and their solutions. To deepen his understanding and stay at the forefront of industry best practices, he completed an internationally recognised certification course with the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) in the United States, becoming the only certified moisture technician in New Zealand and active member of the organisation. Dene understands the time pressures that companies face in delivering completed projects. Since flooring installation typically occurs at the final stages of construction, often after delays, contractors are frequently required to make critical Go/No-Go decisions about floor coatings without sufficient data. This can lead to costly and avoidable flooring failures.
Recognising the importance of informed decision-making, Dene saw a clear need within the industry to provide certified, reliable moisture testing services. By providing independently verified information, he helps protect both clients and contractors, reducing the risk of failure and supporting successful project outcomes.
